Terminal 1

All new teachers will need to complete Steps 1-7 in order to be prepared to teach in the classroom.

🛬 Step 1 - Arrival Checkpoint: Get Access to Your MCS Account

Activate your MCS username and password

  1. You’ll receive an email at your personal address with your MCS username and email.

  2. Call the Help Desk at (209) 574-8600 to reset you rlogin password.

🔐 Step 2 - Cybersecurity Customs: Secure Your Digital Identity

Watch and follow the steps in the video to set up your MFA.

🧳 Step 3 - Launchpad Lounge: Access to Microsoft 365 and Other Apps

To access Microsoft 365, Outlook, and other key MCS tools, go to:

You can also get to the MCS App Portal directly at https://launchpad.classlink.com/mcs
Once at the MCS App Portal you sign in with your District username (not email) and password.  Tip: Use the search bar to quickly find tools like “Office” or “PD Catalog.”

🎓 Step 4 - Professional Development Gate

Find and complete your required self-paced training module.

  1. Go to the MCS App Portal and open the PD Catalog.

  2. To find the New Hire Tech Training eLearning module, simply use the Course Search tool in your Homepage. Search “New Hire” in the course catalog.

  3. Click Register, then Go to Course

  4. Complete all slides, then click “I’m Finished”

Topics Covered: Passwords, Wi-Fi, Outlook Email, Windows 11 & Device Basics, MCS App Portal, Help Desk, Employee Self-Service, Schoology Basics, MS Teams Basics.

🎫 Step 5 - Boarding Call: PowerTeacher Training

PowerTeacher is the system teachers use to take attendance and manage grades.

To get started:

  • You’ll receive an email from PowerSchool at your district Outlook email with instructions to create your PowerSchool Customer Education Campus account.

  • Follow the steps in the email to set up your account.

  • Once your account is set up, go to training.powerschool.com to complete the two required self-paced trainings:

    • PowerTeacher

    • PowerTeacher Pro – Part 1

🧑‍🏫 Step 6 - Passenger Briefing: Schoology LMS

Schoology is our Learning Management System (LMS) and your main platform for sharing materials, posting assignments, and communicating with students.

📦 Step 7 - Cabin Check: Tech in the Classroom

Before takeoff, make sure your teaching space is ready for learning! This step helps you get familiar with the technology in your classroom so you can start strong on Day 1.
