All subs will need to complete Steps 1-10 in order to be prepared to teach in the classroom.

🛬 Step 1 - Arrival Checkpoint: Get Access to Your MCS Account

Activate your MCS username and password

  1. You’ll receive an email at your personal address with your MCS username and email.

  2. Call the Help Desk at (209) 574-8600 to reset you rlogin password.

🎟️ Step 3: Boarding Pass Check – Create Your Schoology Account

Before you can access classroom content, it's time to check in to Schoology, our learning management system (LMS). Follow the steps below to create your account and get ready for takeoff:

  1. Go to Schoology Registration Page

  2. Select Student

  3. Enter this Access Code: VM5V-SX32-FQ6QH

  4. Complete the registration form

    • When entering your email, use this format:
      [username]@mcs4kids.com

  5. Click Register

  6. Check your @monet.k12.ca.us inbox for a confirmation email from Schoology

    • Open the message, click the confirmation link, and log in

Once your account is set up, you’ll be ready to board your training course and explore the tools that support student learning.

🧳 Step 4 - Launchpad Lounge: Access to Microsoft 365 and Other Apps

To access Microsoft 365, Outlook, and other key MCS tools, go to:

You can also get to the MCS App Portal directly at https://launchpad.classlink.com/mcs
Once at the MCS App Portal you sign in with your District username (not email) and password.  Tip: Use the search bar to quickly find tools like “Office” or “PD Catalog.”

🎓 Step 5 - Professional Development Gate

Find and complete your required self-paced training module.

  1. Go to the MCS App Portal and open the PD Catalog.

  2. To find the New Hire Tech Training eLearning module, simply use the Course Search tool in your Homepage. Search “New Hire” in the course catalog.

  3. Click Register, then Go to Course

  4. Complete all slides, then click “I’m Finished”

🎫 Step 6 - Boarding Call: Classroom Management

You're almost ready for takeoff! This step includes practical tools, classroom strategies, and a short presentation to prepare you for the day ahead.

  • Wheel Of Names allows a teacher to input students names onto a random selection wheel.

PowerTeacher is the program for attendance and grade book for Teachers. You will need to complete both PowerTeacher and PowerTeacher Pro Part 1. These are self-paced will take about 2 hours to complete.

Upon successful completion of Level 2 training, substitutes will receive 5 hours at the hourly sub pay rate.
