Modesto Virtual Academy – Online Independent Study

The Modesto Virtual Academy (MVA) is an online independent study program for students in grades TK-12. Students access coursework on their own time, and meet with their assigned teacher once a week. Teachers monitor the pacing of the units and open and close assessments for students.

Students who have an interest in attending MVA who are currently eligible for Special Education and Related Services through an IEP, must have an IEP meeting to discuss a possible programmatic change PRIOR to enrollment in MVA. For additional information regarding this process, please contact your case-manager.

Similarly, students on a 504 plan who have an interest in attending MVA, must have a 504 meeting to discuss a possible programmatic change PRIOR to enrollment in the MVA. For additional information regarding this process, please contact your school’s 504 Coordinator.

For more information on MVA, see the Frequently Asked Questions document in the Files & Links menu on the right.
