An immunization clinic for all students who are lacking immunizations required for school attendance will be held Friday, August 10, from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Roosevelt Jr. High School, 1330 College Avenue. A parent/guardian must accompany students. Please bring health insurance information.
California law requires children to receive certain immunizations in order to attend school.
Students entering transitional kindergarten or kindergarten need the following immunizations:
- Four (4) Polio (three (3) is acceptable if the last dose was given on or after the fourth birthday)
- Five (5) DTP (four (4) is acceptable if the last dose was given on or after the fourth birthday)
- Two (2) MMR
- Three (3) Hepatitis B
- One (1) Varicella (chicken pox)
Students entering 7th grade need the following immunizations:
- One (1) Tdap
- One (1) Varicella (a total of two by the age of 13 – one prior to admittance to transitional kindergarten/kindergarten, and one prior to admittance to 7th grade)
Please call your health care professional for more information about medical exemptions. As of January, 2016, personal beliefs exemptions are no longer valid and students with prior exemptions must be up to date for any other immunizations required for school attendance.
