Number of Students Receiving High Marks on State Tests Nearly Doubles11/08/2016
The number of students receiving medals for achievement on state assessments nearly doubled from the previous year. One hundred thirty-eight students from 16 schools will receive medals for earning high marks on 2015-2016 California state tests, a huge jump from the 78 students in the previous year.
These achievements include receiving top marks on the math and English Language Arts sections of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) test and a perfect 600 score on the science section of the California Standards Test (CST).
Half of the students received medals at a special ceremony before the November 7 board meeting. The second half of students will be awarded medals at a ceremony before the December 5 board meeting.
