Junior High School Graduation Requirements
Students shall receive diplomas of graduation from junior high/middle school only after completing the prescribed course of study and meeting the standards of proficiency established by the District.
Life Science (Grade 7)
Physical Science (Grade 8)
World History (Grade 7)
U.S. History (Grade 8)
U.S. Constitution Test
In order to receive a diploma of graduation, students must receive a passing grade on a District U.S. Constitution test.
Standards of Proficiency / Subject Failure
Retention in Grade 8 shall be based on the following:
- Proficiency Expectations - Students must pass proficiency expectations in any combination of two or more areas: reading, writing or math.
- Subject Failure - Students will be retained if they receive three or more "F's" on any semester grade in the following subjects: math, English, social science or science. (All courses are one semester.)
