California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)
On October 7, 2015, Governor Brown signed SB 172 into law.
In short, SB 172:
- Suspends administration of the CAHSEE through 2018
- Removes the CAHSEE as a graduation requirement through 2018
- Exempts students, beginning with the class of 2006, from the CAHSEE graduation requirement.
With the passage of SB172, students who met all graduation requirements except the CAHSEE are now eligible to receive a high school diploma.
Modesto City Schools began issuing diplomas to these students in January 2016. Affected students must contact the Registrar at the high school they attended to receive more information.
